Arc - Hacker

If you want, make an extended Edit test (4, 30 minutes) to write the program to get free coffee.
Arc knows Begbie's just by being a hacker. Begbie's is a VR, 'trix only hacker bar located on an encrypted server that bounces it's rebound locations all around the world wide Matrix. For example, on any given night, the connection might be to a Neo-Tokyo soy-kaf shop, connected to a ganja hut in Martinique, bounced through a secure banking server in Zurich that is connected to via a subway control unit in Moscow's transit lines that is connected to a Tata Hauler working its way from New Delhi to Mumbai... and so on. Nobody really knows where it is, but the place never closes. Just getting in takes knowing the right people, asking the right questions and then hacking your way through some pretty tough firewalls.
Finding Begbie's will take some kind of legwork. A Data Search (18, 1 minute) will work, augmented by any appropriate knowledge skills for underground hacker hang outs or the like. Alternately, you can use a contact that might know. Once you find Begbie's, there will be a hacking sequence to actually enter the club.

To hack the coffee machine. An extended test is done by ([threshold], [interval]). Each roll takes [interval] time, and hits are added up until [threshold] is reached. In this case, the test was a Data Search (18, 1 minute).
The way your dice rolls work mechanically, as showing up here, mean you spent five 1-minute intervals searching with your first five rolls. These rolls netted 16 hits, two shy of your goal.
Then, you spent another 5 intervals rolling 5 more checks. Shadowrun works on a series of stepped time intervals. These steps are:
Fast 1 Combat Turn Quick 1 Minute Short 10 Minutes Average 30 Minutes Long 1 Hour Consuming 1 Day Exhaustive 1 Week Mammoth 1 Month
Per the ILSSG house rule that makes intervals increase after 5 checks, the interval for this test moves to 10 minutes.
Since you rolled 5 times, spending 5 intervals, that would add up to 50 minutes spent.
Totalled, that is 55 minutes. You would miss your appointment.
Clearly, we will stop as soon as you reach success, thus taking only 5 x 1 minute + 1 x 10 minutes = 15 minutes to find the location.

To parse the information, Arc must perform an Electronic Warfare + Decrypt + [Appropriate Knowledge Skill] (20, 1 minute) test.
This is a process of decoding encrypted matrix sites (the actual code, itself), doing old-school crypto on documents located on various sites etc.
After 5 checks, the interval will increase to 10 minutes.

After 15 minutes, Arc figures out what all the data means.
Begbie's is currently being hosted on a SEAttle Regional Transit Authority matrix site.
Arc should make a series of Matrix Perception checks for each of the site's 5 public nodes.

The matrix node that Arc is trying to find is actively hidden.
One of the matrix nodes randomly contains the node link to Begbie's. Begbie's will roll the node's Firewall + Stealth as an opposed test.
[hidden test]
Arc finds nothing.

Arc is in hotsim mode, this gives him an extra initiative pass and +2 to his matrix perception. His new dice pool is 10d6 I will take one initiative round to search each door (3 rolls) First node: 10d6.hits(5) → [4,4,5,5,2,5,6,1,1,3] = (4) 10d6.hits(5) → [4,1,2,2,6,3,2,1,2,3] = (1) 10d6.hits(5) → [1,3,3,2,4,4,5,1,4,2] = (1) (not great) invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/3018937/Second node: 10d6.hits(5) → [5,5,2,6,5,6,2,5,1,4] = (6) 10d6.hits(5) → [1,2,1,2,4,3,1,6,3,1] = (1) 10d6.hits(5) → [4,6,4,6,4,6,5,1,3,4] = (4) (much better) invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/3018941/Third node: 10d6.hits(5) → [2,2,4,5,2,4,5,5,3,2] = (3) 10d6.hits(5) → [4,3,2,4,1,3,4,1,3,1] = (0) 10d6.hits(5) → [1,2,6,2,2,6,4,4,1,5] = (3) (booooo) invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/3018944/Fourth node: 10d6.hits(5) → [3,3,4,3,2,2,4,1,2,4] = (0) 10d6.hits(5) → [1,4,6,5,2,3,3,6,4,4] = (3) invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/3018946/Final node: 10d6.hits(5) → [1,4,6,3,5,1,6,2,6,5] = (5) 10d6.hits(5) → [5,5,2,4,2,2,3,5,4,1] = (3) 10d6.hits(5) → [2,4,4,3,6,6,6,1,3,4] = (3) invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/3018947/

Arc is able to beat the Stealth by one hit on the last node he looks through.

Here is Arc's attempt to shmooze just a bit more info out of the johnson before taking the gig. Charisma + Etiquette = 3+2 5 dice 5d6.hits(5) → [4,5,1,5,3] = (2) invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/3022693/I have seen better but it wasn't a glitch.

Here are my encryption dice followed by my sniffer program.
4+3+2= 9 dice Encryption 9d6.hits(5) → [2,5,4,6,3,2,4,1,1] = (2)
4+4+2=10 dice Sniffer 10d6.hits(5) → [6,6,5,1,1,4,6,2,5,4] = (5)
