General Posting Format
Posts related to a run should be in the appropriate thread in the Active Runs sub-forum. Activity not related to a run should show up in the ShadowSea.Seattle@Jackpoint forum.
OOC threads are for Player-GM discussion and for mechanics. Questions about what you can do, how a certain roll will be resolved etc. should be in the OOC thread. Be sure to update the IC thread with the results of your discussion and mechanical checks. OOC threads are for under-the-hood mechanics and the results and story are posted in the IC threads.
Rolls may appear in IC threads but should be Spoilered.
IC Posting Format
In Character posts should be formatted as follows:
Posts should begin with a bold location and time stamp (24:00 - Day, Month) followed by the current commlink PAN mode (Active, Hidden or OFF). - New header's need only be supplied when a new scene is being addressed.
All action is noted in standard black text.
All names should be bold in whatever color their attribute text is in (see below).
Speech ''is enclosed in quotes.''
Any matrix activity, be it secure comms, text messages or actual matrix surfing is done in green.
Astral activity is noted in purple.
Thoughts should appear italicized.
Dice rolls are added to posts using spoiler tags and should include description of mechanics at work.
Rolling Dice
We will be using the Invisible Castle dice roller with rolls named for the character. Dice rolls will be added to posts using the Spoiler feature. You can either select your text in the editor and use the 'Spoil' button or edit the tags in by hand.
Title your rolls with the appropriate character. In the notes section, provide contextual detail for the action taking place. Copy and paste the BBCode into your spoiler.
ex:
Character Name - Billy Joel
Campaign Name - ilssg
Number of Rolls - 1
Dice - 20d6.hits(5)
Note - Billy Joel makes a perform check.
The following is an example roll with the proper formatting:
Formatted Example
The following is an example of a properly formatted post:
18:43, 4 March, 2069 - Redmond Barrens, corner of 8th and Mercer - PAN: Hidden
Roy Batty squeezed the handbrake on his chopper, swinging the rear wheel around in a screeching, smoking arc. Stepping off the bike, he pulled his shotgun free of its sheath and leveled the weapon at the gangers before him. ''Looks like you kids picked the wrong corner to stand on. Pity.''
His shotgun roared briefly, bucking in his steely augmented grip. Three gangers were instantly reduced naught but a bloody smear and the remainder fled for their lives.
<<[@ Grifter]: It's done. I expect payment shortly.>>
Roy turned over one of the slaughtered gangers with a booted toe. 'What a fucking mess,' he thought to himself while lighting up a cancer stick.
<<[@Roy Batty]: Account Transaction Complete. Deposit of [500] competed.>>
At least it was worth more than the ammo...
